GoshinKai Goals

The Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-Do GoshinKai's primary goal is to preserve and propagate the art of Okinawan Karate-Do and Ryukyan Kobudo in the United States, through the teachings of those who have gone before us and present day masters. The association is committed to the positive development, enrichment, and training of its members. Members are offered instruction and support in order to build a strong foundation, with the association providing a comprehensive, sructured and progressive curriculum of traditional Karate and Kobudo.

The association encourages and assists members to advance in their own training, and will offer seminars to dojos and individual members. A Board of Instructor/Examines will assist the Director in testing members for advancement in rank. Upon approval, the association will award rank and certification.

The Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-Do GoshinKai promotes the true spirit of Karate-Do, encouraging members to cultivate their mind (kokoro), body (karada-no) and spirit (seishin) through the devotion and life long study of Okinawan Karate and Kobudo.

All association members are encouraged to work together with one another, maintaining proper dojo etiquette and honor, and building harmonious relationships within the association.

The Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-Do GoshinKai encourages members to practice the warrior's code, and to inspire and support one another to live by these core values, both in and out of the dojo.

As modern day warriors, we do not leave the traditions of Okinawan Karate behind. The Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-Do GoshinKai aims to preserve the fabric of the art of Karate-Do and encourages members to lead a life of honor, integrity and service to our families and nation.
